Voacanga africana is a small tropical tree with yellow or white flowers. In Africa the bark and seeds of the tree are used as a stimulant and aphrodisiac.

Growing: The seeds can take a few months to germinate. To speed up germination time, the seeds must first be soaked in a vinegar solution to help eat away at the outer shell of the seed, since it is very thick. Soak them in vinegar for 5 minutes, and then drain and rinse them of all acids (or it could hurt them later in the germination process). Plant the seeds about 6 cm deep, in a mix of ¾ sand and ¼ putting soil. Water the seeds every day.
